Kliklok Supplies Automatic Cartoner to Iceland
August 01, 2005
BRISTOL, UK — Kliklok Woodman has just installed an automatic endload cartoning line to a confectionery plant in Iceland, to pack bags of chocolate covered raisins and wafers.
Initial discussions began at Interpack when the company, Goa Linda, asked Kliklok to provide an automated endload solution to replace their existing vertical cartoner.
Due to the limited space at Goa Linda’s factory, Kliklok Woodman supplied their short footprint SFR endload cartoner, with its stainless steel construction and sophisticated touch screen interface. This automatic line includes integration with Kliklok’s automatic Right Angle Transfer system, the R.A.T.
Kliklok Woodman’s line responsibility was to accept single plastic bags filled with product directly from the customer’s bagmaker, onto an elevating conveyor and product settling system leading to the R.A.T., which times, gaps & transfers each bag into the flights of the 12” pitch SFR.
The SFR was customised with change parts for 2 different carton sizes, a deboss coder, hand operated lubrication system, and modifications to the glue system to accommodate a special glue-spot pattern.
This fully integrated system is the first step for Goa Linda towards labour-saving packaging automation, and is expected to provide a return on investment within two years. The installation and subsequent production has been so well received that Goa Linda are already considering a second Kliklok Woodman line.
